Morris est, en son temps, l'un des meilleurs connaisseurs
de l'histoire médiévale, et il en fait une sorte de culte.
Il n'est pas le seul. Outre les tenants de la "réaction romantique",
un courant socialiste cultive le mythe d'un âge d'or médiéval
tout au long du XIXe siècle. Exemples. Et essai d'explication.
