Our guest speaker, Prof. Heinz Giegerich (University of Edimborough), is, inter alia, the author of Metrical phonology and phonological structure: German and English (Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 1985), of English phonology: an introduction (CUP, 1992) and of Lexical strata in English : morphological causes, phonological effects (CUP, 1999). His present work deals with the issues of the interdependence between lexicon and phonology. See
Conference Theme :
The conference theme should enable participants to re-examine the macro syntax, clauses, phrases, boundaries and their phonetic correlates. Potential areas for study are: lexical units and phonological processes concerned by different levels of the prosodic hierarchy; the phonological status of boundaries, domains, units - the foot or the clitic group, for example.
Abstracts not directly related to the theme and posters will also be considered.
Working Languages: English and French.
